Typeface licence

What each HT Press font licence lets you do.

Last updated 3 November 2026

HT Press fonts are licensed, not sold. This licence is a summary agreement between you and Hugh Tran (HT Press). Buying a font means you accept it.

Desktop

Install the fonts on one computer to make static work: print, packaging, logos, images, PDFs and video. There is no limit on how many things you make or how many copies are printed.

Web

Self-host the web fonts (WOFF and WOFF2) on one website or domain, including its subdomains.

Desktop + Web

Both Desktop and Web, when bundled together on a typeface.

Merch (up to 5,000 items) and Merch Extended

Use the fonts on physical goods made for sale (apparel, prints, cards, objects) up to 5,000 items in total. Merch Extended removes the 5,000-item cap.

App

Embed the fonts in one mobile, desktop or web application or game.

All tiers

Desktop, Web, Merch Extended and App bundled together for one studio or company.

Studio (up to 5 users)

Where offered on a typeface, Desktop + Web for up to five people at the same company or studio.

Larger and special uses

Broadcast, enterprise seat counts, use across multiple apps or domains, and modifying the fonts all need a custom licence. Get in touch through the contact page.

What you can’t do

  • Share, resell or give away the font files, or upload them where others can download them.
  • Rename or redistribute modified versions of the fonts.
  • Use the fonts to make another font.

Freelancers and clients

You may send a font to a printer or service bureau to output your work. A client who wants to edit the files needs their own licence.

Trial fonts

Fonts used in the type tester on product pages are for previewing in your browser only.

Ownership

The fonts and their designs remain the property of Hugh Tran. This licence is personal to the buyer and ends if its terms are broken.
